Tyreek Hill injury update: Adam Schefter reveals likely diagnosis for Dolphins WR after leaving for hospital

Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill is believed to have suffered a dislocated knee, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Hill exited Monday night’s contest against the New York Jets, being carted off the field and later transported to a local hospital.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that a dislocated knee is “far worse than a dislocated knee cap, (and) often comes with multiple ligament tears.” Hill has unsurprisingly been ruled out for the remainder of Monday’s game.
The injury occurred during the third quarter as he was tackled and landed awkwardly. His leg was visibly bent in an unnatural position even after the play as it was one of the more gruesome looking injuries we’ve seen in a while. He waved to fans at Hard Rock Stadium as the cart took him away.
Prior to his injury, Hill led the Dolphins with six receptions for 67 yards. The eight-time Pro Bowler had 15 catches for 198 yards and a touchdown through the first three games of this season.
It certainly looks like a season-ending injury for Hill, a devastating outcome for both he and the Dolphins. Hill, the NFL‘s leading receiver in 2023, was looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2024 campaign.
With Hill out, Miami is down its biggest weapon on offense. They will look for Jaylen Waddle, Malik Washington and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to step up in his absence.
Miami was off to an 0-3 start to this season entering Sunday’s contest and now face an even bigger uphill battle to turn things around in light of the injury to Hill. They led 27-13 and looked on their way to the first victory of the season with two minutes remaining in Monday’s game.

Patrick Mahomes reacts to former teammate Tyreek Hill’s injury
Hill’s former teammate, Kansas Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, provided an instant reaction to the injury. Like all of us, he was sending well wishes to Hill.
“Prayers up man,” Mahomes said following a couple of pray emojis. The two were teammates in Kansas City from 2017-2021.
Hill helped the Chiefs win their first Super Bowl of the Patrick Mahomes era in 2020. For the first several years of his career, Hill was Mahomes’ go-to receiver during his first several years in the NFL.
Overall in six seasons with Kansas City, Hill recorded 479 catches for 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns. He’s never missed extended time due to an injury in his career, though it unfortunately looks like that will change after Monday.
