The Internet was a flurry of news stories about a possible Mark Zuckerberg vs. Elon Musk cage match fight this week after the Twitter CEO floated the idea via social media.

There does actually appear to be a legitimate shot that something of the sort gets organized, with Zuckerberg also responding in kind on social media.

And the Facebook creator does have some martial arts experience, having taken up Brazilian jiu-jitsu in the last couple years. That experience has one former UFC legend turned Brazilian jiu-jitsu trainer confident Zuckerberg would win a fight with Musk handily.

“I say Zuckerberg wins by a rear naked chokehold in the first round,” Matt Serra, a former UFC fighter, told the New York Post. “I don’t think his [stand up] striking is going to crack an egg, but I think he’s smart and will close the distance in grappling on the ground.”

But Musk also has a little bit of martial arts background, though it’s unclear how much he keeps up with it.

The Twitter CEO reportedly has training in Kyokushin karate, taekwondo and judo.

Serra gave some tips to the New York Post on how he thinks Musk should fight if he wants to have a shot against Zuckerberg and his Brazilian jiu-jitsu moves.

He noted that Musk should try to stay off the ground and use the space inside the cage to his advantage. Using some of his judo moves could also help him avoid Mark Zuckerberg taking him to the ground in the cage match.

“Musk would have to try to either to work tremendously on his wrestling to keep off the ground or take some lessons in jiu-jitsu,” Serra said. “He also needs to develop one hell of a sprawl.”

As far as the fight actually happening, though, there’s growing momentum.

UFC president Dana White chimed in on the whole thing in an exclusive interview with TMZ, salivating at the potential revenue stream a Mark Zuckerberg vs. Elon Musk cage match could generate.

“Both guys are absolutely serious about this,” White said. “This would be the biggest fight ever, in the history of the world. Bigger than anything that’s ever been done. It would break all pay-per-view records. These guys would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for charity.”

White estimated that it could make triple what the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor fight did. That fight in 2017 reportedly raked in about $600 million.
