No. 1 Kansas and No. 9 North Carolina will tip off towards the end of the first week of the college basketball season tonight with a Top-10 matchup. With that, Allen Fieldhouse will be rocking for one of the better non-conference games of the entire year already between two blue bloods in the sport.

The Jayhawks opened their season with an 87-57 win over Howard. It was the debut for their incredibly talented lineup of returners, transfer additions, and duo of top-rated freshmen. That has Kansas as one of the best teams in the nation as they entered as the No. 1 team in the Preseason AP Top-25.

The Tar Heels also started their year with a win this week but were tested more in a 90-76 win over Elon. The Phoenix took a late second-half lead with a run before UNC pulled away again in the last six and a half minutes. They did so on the night behind several pieces in their backcourt, including one of the best guards in the country who returned in R.J. Davis.
