(Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports) Jan 27, 2024; Nashville, Tennessee, USA; Tennessee Volunteers forward Jonas Aidoo (0) and guard Dalton Knecht (3) celebrate after a basket during the second half against the Vanderbilt Commodores at Memorial Gymnasium.

After Tennessee took care of business against the Commodores in Vanderbilt, the two clubs meet again in Thompson-Boling arena to complete the season series.

Both teams are actually coming off a win this time around, as Tennessee bounced back from a loss two games ago in their previous outing this week in a 29-point win on the road at Arkansas. Meanwhile, Vandy point guard Ezra Manjon knocked in a circus shot at the buzzer to beat Texas A&M at home.

So, for all of the relevant info — TV channel, tip time, point spreads and predictions — read up on the upcoming matchup right here:

Odds for Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee

According to FanDuel, Tennessee is the home favorite by 19.5 points as of Saturday morning. On the surface, that sounds pretty large, but remember, the Commodores are 7-17 on the season and 2-9 in the SEC. Plus, Tennessee was able to overcome a slow first half and beat this same team by 15 in Nashville.

That’s why Rick Barnes’ club is also heavy favorites on the money line as well at -4500. That’s not even worth betting, since you’d need to wager 45 bucks just to win one. But there’s plenty of value in Vandy at +1600 to win outright.

Final Score Predictions

KenPom final score: Tennessee 83, Vanderbilt 60
KenPom win probability: Tennessee 98%

KenPom takes absolutely no mercy on Vandy, giving them a measly one in 50 shot at pulling off the win while expecting the Volunteers to win by 23 points. That’s the expectation when KenPom has Tennessee No. 6 overall in the country and Vanderbilt at 197th.

BPI projected winner: Tennessee
BPI win probability: 98.6%
BPI projected point difference: 26.8 points
BPI Matchup Quality: 64.6 (36th of the day)

ESPN’s Basketball Power Index (BPI) is the most bullish of anyone on Tennessee today, expecting a mammoth blowout of nearly 27 points between these in-state rivals. It also doesn’t think this will be a terribly entertaining contest, rating the matchup outside of the top-30 just for Saturday.

Every single metric and sports book says Tennessee and by a lot. Jerry Stackhouse and company may need an even crazier miracle than they got with Manjon vs. Texas A&M to win this one.
