It isn’t every day that Vince McMahon does a public interview. On Thursday, that changed — the Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment joined The Pat McAfee Show in advance of WrestleMania 38 next month.

Among other things, McMahon gave immense insight into his background, and how he’s built the WWE. Additionally, McMahon detailed how he’s grown the global phenomenon that is WrestleMania.

Then, the Chairman of WWE shocked the audience — making an insane offer to the host and former NFL star, Pat McAfee.

“I want to offer you something,” interrupted McMahon. “I know you love what we do, and you’re a part of the team. Big time. People in the organization really enjoy you. Fans all around the world really enjoy you being you. You can’t find anyone — I can’t imagine back in the day, Bob Costas standing on the desk and dancing. But you’re you. And that’s why it works.

“With that, I’d like to offer you an opportunity to actually wrestle at WrestleMania. In the ring.”

McAfee — who’s been working as the color-commentator on Friday Night Smackdown for almost a year — was elated to accept.

“It’d be a dream, boss,” responded McAfee.

However, McMahon brought it to the football field for the former Colts star, stating: “It’d be a difference though. When you played for the Colts, you’re the punter. But now — in the ring — you’re going to be a linebacker. .. We’ll find some worthy opponent for you, put you in the ring.”

McAfee responded: “24 tackles in the NFL. No big deal. That would be a f—ing dream. Obviously. .. I would love to. That’d be an absolute honor.”

The offer is no joke, and McAfee is now expected to compete at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas.

“You know I don’t bullshit,” stated McMahon. “I don’t do that.”

More on Pat McAfee, WWE

Moreover, this won’t be the first time Pat McAfee enters a WWE ring. At WWE‘s NXT TakeOver XXX, McAfee took on former WWE star Adam Cole in a showdown. During the match, McAfee impressed — showing he could handle himself in a wrestling ring.

However, that wasn’t the end of their feud. At WWE‘s NXT TakeOver: WarGames event, a team assembled by McAfee took on Cole’s faction, The Undisputed Era. The match consisted of McAfee’s squad (Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Danny Burch, and Oney Lorcan) taking on the aforementioned Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong) in a WarGames match.

During the match, McAfee’s team emerged victorious after he hit a Swanton Bomb on his opponents. Now, the former Indianapolis Colts star will be looking to get a victory at WrestleMania 38.
