Virginia at North Carolina odds: Opening point spread revealed, How to Watch

As the ACC race gets even more interesting, Virginia will head to Chapel Hill in Week 9 to take on North Carolina. Ahead of the matchup, the early point spread has been released.
The Cavaliers opened as 9.5-point favorites over the Tar Heels, according to BetMGM. The over-under also opened at 52.5.
UVA is one of two remaining undefeated teams in ACC play following Miami’s loss to Louisville and Duke’s loss to Georgia Tech. Tony Elliott’s group will now go up against Bill Belichick’s UNC team, still searching for a Power 4 victory.

North Carolina looked like it would have an opportunity to get its first ACC victory in a Friday night primetime matchup. The Tar Heels kept things close with Cal during their game in Berkeley and had an opportunity to score the go-ahead touchdown.
However, Nathan Leacock fumbled at the goal line, and Cal recovered it in the end zone for a touchback. That allowed Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele to lead a game-sealing drive and send North Carolina to a 2-4 overall record, including an 0-2 mark in league play.
It was an up-and-down day for UNC quarterback Gio Lopez, who went 19 of 35 for 167 yards and zero passing touchdowns. After the game, Bill Belichick pointed out some issues throughout the game, but said the film would tell him more about Lopez’s performance.

“We’ll take a look at it on film,” Belichick said. “We definitely dropped some passes. I’m sure it wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t for any of us, coaches or players. But again, I thought we played competitively.
“I mean, we had the ball on the one-inch line with a chance to take the lead in the fourth quarter. So I wouldn’t say it was, I mean, that’s what it was. And then we couldn’t get the ball back until it was only 13 seconds left.”
