Washington receiver Terry McLaurin leaves game with apparent injury

Washington Football Team wide receiver Terry McLaurin has left Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to an injury. McLaurin took a big hit on a Washington possession, and he left the game and went to the locker room following that series.
Shortly after McLaurin went to the locker room, he was deemed questionable to return with a collarbone injury. He had two receptions for nine yards before leaving the game.
Washington’s offense has been very inconsistent this year with Taylor Heinicke under center, leading to mixed results for McLaurin. Entering Sunday’s game, McLaurin had 43 receptions for 573 yards and four touchdowns. He has three 100-yard receiving games, making up the majority of his production on the year.
Washington led Tampa Bay 13-0 at the time of McLaurin’s injury. Chase Young was also carted off with an injury in the game. Luckily for Washington, McLaurin did return to the game.

The Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel reunion hasn’t gone as planned for Washington
Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel were once teammates at Ohio State. The two wide receivers spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons together with the Buckeyes. Samuel was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. McLaurin went in the third round to Washington in 2019.
Washington signed Samuel to a three-year contract in the offseason, reuniting him and McLaurin. But Samuel has dealt with injuries all season, only appearing in two games. In those games, he has four receptions on five targets for 19 yards along with an eight-yard rushing attempt.
Washington appears to have avoided any serious injury with McLaurin, but the disappointment on how the season has gone for the offense is apparent. Once McLaurin and Samuel can be on the offense together, the duo could be dangerous. But that just hasn’t happened yet. Hopefully, the two can return to the field together soon.
