William Byron pressed for Sabrina Carpenter news, Hendrick teammate reacts at Atlanta

Fresh off winning last Sunday’s Daytona 500, William Byron extended an invite to Sabrina Carpenter for the Grammy Award-winning artist to attend a race this season.
“Maybe we can get her out to a race or something, that would be great,” Byron told TMZ earlier this week. “Or I can get to a show. That would be fun.”
Byron, speaking with the media ahead of Sunday’s Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta, said he’s yet to hear back from Carpenter.
“No, it was cool to have a little bit of fun with that and we’ll see what happens,” Byron said Saturday, via Matt Weaver of Sportsnaut.
Byron added with a laugh: “No more questions from TMZ.”

How did this begin? Well, if you weren’t keeping up on NASCAR social media this week, Byron was the victim of a parody account. “The Daily Downfords” is a parody account of The Daily Downforce outlet. The parody account shared a doctored image making it look like Byron had left a flirty reply under Carpenter’s latest Instagram post.

After responding to the parody post on X, Byron faced questions from TMZ. When asked if he had a special message for the pop star?
“I don’t know, her music’s pretty good,” Byron said with a smile.
Alex Bowman, Byron’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate, would love to see Byron pull it off.
“Good for him, man,” Bowman told Steven Taranto of CBS Sports. “He’s a baby-faced assassin. If he makes that happen, he’s just winning at life. So, proud of him for sure.”
Told that Byron gave a “we’ll see what happens” answer, Bowman offered a theory of what he thinks is really happening.
“I think that means it’s going down in the DMs,” Bowman said. “You never know.”
