When Jason Kelce made his surprise appearance at WrestleMania 40 this past weekend, one announcer jokingly called him Taylor Swift’s “brother-in-law.” At the event, Kelce and former Philadelphia Eagles teammate Lane Johnson removed their luchador masks to reveal their identities to the crowd at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Then WWE announcer Corey Graves asked an interesting question about Kelce.

“Isn’t that what’s her name’s brother-in-law?” Graves jokingly asked Pat McAfee who was also part of the broadcast.

“Are you feeling 22?” McAfee replied while signing. “Is that what you’re talking about? ‘Cardigan’ … that’s family.” McAfee added that Kelce and his brother Travis have, “The number one sports podcast on Earth too. And a legend, both of ‘em.”

Obviously, the reason Graves said that is Swift and Travis Kelce are dating. However, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened as former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current CBS Sports analyst Tony Romo made a similar mistake twice last year.

When the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day, Romo referred to Swift as Kelce’s wife. “And his wife loves it, I mean, girlfriend,” Romo said after Kelce caught his 900th career pass, per PEOPLE.

Romo made the mistake again during the Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game earlier in the month. “As you see, Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, in the audience,” Romo said before quickly correcting himself. “Er, I’m sorry. girlfriend!”

What does Jason Kelce think of Taylor Swift?

Because of the attention Travis Kelce has gained from dating Taylor Swift, Jason Kelce has been in the spotlight more than he has in his NFL career. In February, Jason Kelce shared his thoughts on Swift and said nothing but great things about her.

“I’ve been fortunate to meet Taylor now. She’s [an] awesome, genuine, down-to-earth person, which has been great to see, whenever you’re seeing anyone of that caliber of stardom,” Jason said. “My brother and his love life is definitely the topic of the NFL right now, and my whole thing with that is as long as Trav is happy and enjoying life, I’m happy and enjoying life.”

Jason Kelce took part in WrestleMania 40 after announcing his retirement from the NFL in March. He spent his entire NFL career with the Eagles and will likely be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame once he’s eligible. Kelce is a seven-time Pro Bowler, a six-time All-Pro selection and he helped the Eagles win Super Bowl LII.
