Kansas City has been without some key weapons on offense to open this season. Now, for Week 4, the Chiefs are likely to have at least one of them back this weekend in Xavier Worthy.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Worthy is on track to play against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. That’s with him having returned to practice this week for KC.

“The Kansas City Chiefs are expecting to get back Xavier Worthy on Sunday in a big game against the Baltimore Ravens,” Schefter said on ‘Get Up’ on Thursday morning. “Worthy went down earlier in the season, third play of the season, in friendly fire with Travis Kelce. Back in practice at full yesterday and, if he’s listed in full on Wednesday, that tells you that he is tracking to play on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.”

In Week 1’s divisional loss to the LA Chargers in Brazil, Kelce took Worthy out early by running into him on separate routes across the middle of the field. That led to a shoulder injury that has sidelined him for the past two weeks against the Eagles and the Giants.

With that, Kansas City has started this season without each of its top two wide receivers. Worthy has been out with that injury after posting 59 catches for 638 yards and six touchdowns as the Chiefs’ leading receiver as a rookie last season. Rashee Rice, who played in just four games last fall, is halfway through a six-game suspension to start this season from the NFL.

In their respective absences, Patrick Mahomes has made the most of the targets that he has had on the field. Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown (19 catches, 171 yards), Tyquan Thornton (9 catches for 171 yards, 2 TDs), and JuJu Smith-Schuster (10 catches, 115 yards) have been their leading receivers, while Travis Kelce (10 catches for 134 yards, TD) has been solid as ever as well.

But, with an average offense to this point of the season, Kansas City is going to need more, especially in what could be a shootout against Baltimore in Arrowhead. That makes it very important that Worthy is already this far along in likely being able to play versus the Ravens on Sunday.
