According to Tom Pelissero, the Green Bay Packers have made a historic move by signing offensive tackle Zach Tom to a four-year, $92 million contract. A nice signing bonus will be coming the way of Tom, who is entering his fourth season with the franchise. In fact, it’s the most an offensive lineman has ever received.

“The #Packers and OT Zach Tom have agreed to terms on a historic four-year, $88 million contract extension with a max value of $92 million, sources tell The Insiders,” Pelissero said via X. “The deal includes a $30.2 million Signing Bonus, which is the largest signing bonus for an Offensive Lineman in the history of the NFL.”

Tom was a fourth-round pick for the Packers during the 2022 NFL Draft at No. 140 overall after spending his college days with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Some playing time was earned as a rookie, getting on the field during nine games. Five of those were starts at different positions. However, the past two years have been a little clearer.

Green Bay has made Tom their starting right tackle. All 17 games in 2024 saw him protecting Jordan Love from the right side, a consistent presence up front. The same can be said about the previous year, currently having a 34-game streak going when it comes to starts in the regular season. You can bump the number up by three when including playoffs.

Now, the hope is Tom will continue to be out there every game throughout the length of this historic contract. One more year is left on his rookie deal, meaning the Packers will not really start paying him the big bucks until 2026. A great contract for Green Bay to get ahead of, locking down somebody at one of the more important positions in all of football.

Green Bay Packers release kicker Alex Hale

The Green Bay Packers announced on Monday they have released kicker Alex Hale. During training camp last year, Hall joined the Packers’ practice squad as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program.

Hale signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent in August after going undrafted. He played college football at Oklahoma State and was selected to the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2023 after going 27 for 34 on his field goal attempts and 36 for 38 on extra points.
