Omotosho 2024 Recap
After playing in a reserve role in his first year with the program in 2023, Omotosho appeared primed for a breakout season at outside linebacker for the Beavers in 2024. They graduated a lot of players in the offseason and needed OLB depth. He was capable of handling a starting-type role from his time at Wyoming, and entering 2024, Omotosho was one of the OLB starters.
However, injury struck early in the season as Omotosho wound up playing most of the season through a labrum injury. He played in nine games and finished with 14 tackles, one tackle for loss, and six quarterback hurries, but wasn’t 100% on the field. The injury limited his effectiveness as a pass rusher and, as a result, delayed the breakout season we’ll likely see in 2025.
Omotosho 2025 Outlook
Entering the 2025 campaign, Omotosho is healthy and appears poised to have a big season for the Beavers from the EDGE spot. He’s got the ideal size for an EDGE rusher at 6-foot-2, 251 pounds and has a strong track record of impacting the opposing backfield from his time at Wyoming.
He was a nice addition via the transfer portal for the Beavers ahead of the 2023 campaign, but his first year saw a crowded room, and the second a sizable injury, so he’ll be looking for a bounce-back campaign.
As we approach fall camp, Omotosho has an inside track to be one of the OLB starters opposite Nikko Taylor now that he’s healthy. With Trent Bray back leading the defense, they’ll likely be more aggressive getting after the passer, and Omotosho should be spending a lot of time in the opposing backfield. Look for Omotosho to have an effective 2025…
