2026 In-state LHP August Ware commits to Oregon State

Oregon State baseball on Sunday picked up a commitment from in-state left handed pitcher August Ware, a standout at Glencoe High School in Hillsboro, Oregon.
He is the 12th commitment of the Beavers’ 2026 recruiting class according to Perfect Game including the fifth pitcher. He is curently the only left handed pitcher in the class. Ware was receiving interest from numerous prorgams prior to his commitment include Santa Clara, Gonzaga, Cal State Bakersfield, and Oregon among others.
A lengthy left hander at 6-foot-5, Ware uses a traditional 3/4 arm slot. His fastball currently sits in the high 80s and low 90s while he also mixes in a low-80s changeup and a curveball that comes in in the high 70s. He will also at times mix in a slider that currently sits in the low 80s.
While unclear if it is his full season stats, MaxPreps has Ware logging six appearences this past spring, totaling 33.2 IP. In those 33.2 IP, he struck out of 65 while walking 15. He posted a 2.50 ERA in the procecss.
According to Perfect Game, Oregon State’s current 2026 recruiting class is ranked 23rd nationally ahead of notable programs such as Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisville, Arizona State, Oregon, and Arizona among others.
