Through the first six and a half months of the 2026 recruiting class, the Oregon State Beavers hold 11 commitments. Of those 11 commitments, the Beavers hold commitments from one quarterback, one running back, two wide receivers, one defensive lineman, two linebackers, and four defensive backs.

So what positions could the Beavers focus on in the second half of the cycle? BeaversEdge takes a closer look.

RUNNING BACK

Current Commits: 1
Projected Commits: 1 or 2

The Beavers currently have six running backs on their scholarship chart with two with senior eligibility in Anthony Hankerson and Marquis Crosby. With one running back committed in Braylon Toliver, it will be interesting to see if the Beavers choose to go the high school route or transfer portal route the next time they add to the position group.

WIDE RECEIVER

Current Commits: 2
Projected Commits: 3

Oregon State already has Cynai Thomas and Macolm Watkins committed at wide receiver, so it’s not a major need the remainder of the cycle. If the right fit comes about, the remainder of the cycle, it’s a position the Beavers could certainly address. But like running back, they could also choose to address any extra needs via the transfer portal.

OFFENSIVE LINE

Current Commits: 0
Projected Commits: 3 or 4

Through their first 11 commitments, the Beavers hold zero offensive line commitments. That’s not going to be something that will obviously stand the rest of the way. The Beavers currently have 17 scholarship offensive linemen entering this fall, only two are in their final years of eligibility Van Wells and Tyler Voltin. That being said, it’s also likely that the Beavers will lose an offensive lineman or two to the transfer portal next offseason. They’re probably active in the portal to fill roster spots on the offensive line but building through the high school ranks is always a must in the trenches.

Now that being said, most of the offensive linemen that the Beavers have offered so far this cycle have committed elsewhere. Most of those still uncommitted are firmly out of their reach. This will be a recurring theme throughout this article, but the Beavers’ offensive line recruiting this cycle will primarily occur in the latter months of the cycle, specifically October, November, and December. We expect them to take at least two, if not three high school offensive linemen this cycle.

DEFENSIVE LINE

Current Commits: 1
Projected Commits: 4

With one defensive line commitment so far this cycle from Adel Dorr, the Beavers are surely going to address the defensive line for the remainder of the cycle. Nick Norris, Jacob Schuster, and Tahjea Mullix are all in their senior year of eligibility, and there’s always a chance of a transfer or two. With one defensive end committed this cycle, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Beavers go with one more EDGE rusher and then perhaps a pair of defensive tackles.
