Oregon State Lands Idaho Transfer LB Dylan Layne
The Oregon State football team and head coach JaMarcus Shephard added their third transfer of the day on Monday afternoon with the addition of former Idaho linebacker Dylan Layne.
A former Lake Oswego standout, Layne comes to Corvallis with one year of eligibility while also coming off a career season for the Vandals in 2025. This fall, Layne recorded 88 tackles, which included 5.5 tackles for loss.
Layne will have the opportunity to be a starting linebacker for Oregon State in 2025, joining a room right now that is headlined by Aiden Sullivan and Raesjon Davis. PFF graded Layne out to a 65.6 overall grade this season, including a strong 75.2 grade against the run as he totaled over 750 snaps on the seaosn including 377 run defense snaps.
Layne is the third transfer to commit to Oregon State, joining wide receiver Xayvion Noland and tight end DC Temple.
