Oregon State's Aiva Arquette Drafted 7th Overall By Miami

Oregon State shortstop Aiva Arquette is officially a Miami Marlin as he was selected seventh overall in the first round of the 2025 MLB Draft on Sunday afternoon.
Arquette is coming off a junior season with the Beavers, where he helped them reach the College World Series for the first time since 2018. He played in and started all 65 games and was the only Beaver to start every game at the same position, which he did at shortstop.
Arquette delivered at the plate offensively as he led the Beavers with a .354 batting average and finished second on the team with 19 home runs and 66 RBI. He also led the team with 73 runs and 17 doubles, and had 39 walks and seven stolen bases.
Arquette was named Perfect Game All-America Second Team, Baseball America All-America Second Team, NCBWA All-America Third Team, and D1Baseball.com All-America Third Team.
Arquette was also a finalist for the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger of the Year, and the Brooks Wallace Award, and was a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, the Dick Howser Trophy, and the Brooks Wallace Award.
Before Oregon State, Arquette spent two seasons at Washington with the Huskies. He played in 63 games over two seasons and hit .311 in 254 at-bats, with 14 doubles, a triple, 17 home runs, 47 runs batted in, and nine stolen bases. Coming out of Saint Louis High School in Hawaii, he was selected in the 18th round of the 2022 MLB Draft by Arizona, but did not sign.
Arquette was the first Beaver to be drafted, but certainly not the last in the 2025 MLB Draft. The Beavers expect to have several more players’ names called, so stay tuned to BeaversEdge for the latest coverage on Oregon State’s draftees.
