Oregon State outfielder Gavin Turley is officially an Oakland Athletic as he was selected 110th overall in the 4th round of the 2025 MLB Draft on Monday morning. The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder perhaps expected his name to be called a bit earlier in the process, but the Chandler, Ariz. native is likely headed to the major leagues. Per MLB.com, Turley’s pick slot value is $694.60k.

Turley is coming off a junior season with the Beavers, where he helped them reach the College World Series for the first time since 2018. He played in and started all 65 games for the Beavers in the outfield.

Turley was a force at the plate offensively, hitting .351 with 13 doubles, 20 home runs, and 69 RBI. He also drew 50 walks, stole five bases, and led Oregon State with 26 multiple-hit games and 20 multi-RBI efforts.

His 20 homers were the third-most for a single season at OSU, and he leaves Corvallis as the program’s all-time leader in home runs with 53. He also leaves Oregon State as their career record-holder in RBIs with 189…

Turley’s strong play was recognized by the national pundits as he earned places on the ABCA All-America First Team, College Baseball Foundation All-America First Team, and the Baseball America All-America Second Team. He also made the D1Baseball.com All-America Second Team, NCBWA Second-Team All-America, College Sports Communicators Academic All-America First Team, ABCA All-Region First Team, and was a Dick Howser Trophy Semifinalist.

Turley was the second Beaver on the team (third overall) to be drafted, but certainly not the last in the 2025 MLB Draft. The Beavers expect to have several more players’ names called, so stay tuned to BeaversEdge for the latest coverage on Oregon State’s draftees. He joins Aiva Arquette and high school commit Xavier Neyens as draftees so far…
