Freeport High School’s (Fla.) Julius Miles is now the top player in Louisville’s 2026 class, according to Monday’s latest Rivals300 rankings.

At 6-foot-6, 205 pounds, the tight end could be one of the class’s hidden gems and soars into the top-200 after a strong start to his senior season.

Miles enters the rankings as the No. 180 prospect and tenth-rated tight end in the nation. Miles was previously unranked in the Rivals300 and was listed as the No. 23 tight end — a 15-player climb for the senior.

As a junior, Miles caught 59 balls for 895 yards (15.2 yards per catch) and seven touchdowns. Excellent numbers for his position and age, but in the early season this fall, the 6-foot-6 pass catcher is putting up record statistics. He’s sixth nationally in receiving yards with 676 and has added 11 total touchdowns, three of which have come on the ground at the goalline. Miles’s 34 receptions through four games also set him apart in this class. He is averaging 169 yards a contest as a senior.

The four-star’s team, Freeport, has also put up impressive statistics, starting the season 4-0 and scoring 71 points over the weekend.

Miles committed to Louisville on July 5, choosing the Cardinals over Florida State and Syracuse. His recruitment was led by Louisville tight end Ryan Wallace.

“It was the right choice for him in terms of relationship with the position coach, who I thought did a tremendous job of recruiting him, Ryan Wallace,” Freeport head coach Shaun Arntz told Cardinal Sports on his commitment. “A lot of the other schools send in a middle man, and with Louisville, from day one, it was Coach Wallace.”

The No. 23 player out of Florida visited campus on June 20 and had the chance to talk with early enrollees and current Cards about the program. Wallace keeps up with Miles weekly, and of course, the head coach, Jeff Brohm, has been involved.

In his tape, Miles, who’s still adding size, bulldozes through opposing secondaries. His speed, combined with height, is freaky. He’s also got the athleticism to make guys miss in open space. Wanting to be labeled as a tight end and play on the line, Miles has a wide receiver skillset and has been working hard on improving as a blocker.

As of mid-September, Louisville’s 2026 class is one of the best under Brohm since his return to his alma mater and has 26 percent of its 23 commits in-state. Four-stars like Jaydin Broadnax, Jarvis Strickland, Briggs Cherry, and now, Miles headline the class.

The Cardinals now have the No. 28-ranked 2026 class in the nation and are seventh in the ACC.
