University of Louisville men’s basketball has added a new member to its staff this offseason, with former Cardinals center Frank Anselem-Ibe set to join as a Graduate Assistant Coach.

Anselem-Ibe took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share the announcement, putting the “Graduate Assistant Coach” title in his bio.

The 6-foot-10, 220-pound big man played his final season of college basketball with Louisville after transferring from Georgia. The Nigerian spent the first two seasons of his career at Syracuse. Last season, Anselem-Ibe played in 23 games, averaging 3.7 minutes a contest. His best performance came in the season opener against Morehead State, where he scored two points and snatched three rebounds in six minutes. The backup center played a season-high eight minutes against Miami and logged a total of five blocks over the course of the season.

Head coach Pat Kelsey has made a couple of other changes to his staff heading into year two of his tenure. The Cardinals promoted assistant coach Brian Kloman to a new title — Executive Director of Player Personnel and Strategic Initiatives — and replaced his assistant spot with U of L legend Peyton Siva.

Kloman, the longtime assistant under Kelsey served as the program’s “defensive coordinator” a season ago — developing and implementing the team’s defense in and out of games. But, will now oversee the program’s recruiting infrastructure, player evaluation, and roster management. He will also take the lead on several forward-facing initiatives, including NIL education and opportunities, transfer portal strategy, and alignment with the program’s academic and life skills development goals.

Anselem-Ibe was a constant fixture for fans as a part of Louisville’s “Reviville” season. He was an active participant on the Cards’ bench with high-spirited energy and a beaming smile. Anselem-Ibe was named to the All-ACC Academic team.

Louisville’s momentum keeps growing heading into the 2025-26 season. With staff changes and an overwhelmingly difficult non-conference schedule, all eyes will be on the Cardinals at the KFC Yum! Center this winter.
