Highlights and Quotes: Three-star CB Devonte Anderson commits to Louisville

Louisville snagged its 22nd commit of the 2026 class this Friday evening in West Orange’s (Fla.) Devonte Anderson, a three-star athlete.

The Cards have bagged five commitments now out of the state of Florida: DJ Williams, Julius Miles, Jon Adams, and of course the U of L’s No. 1 player in the class and Anderson’s 7-on-7 Jaydin Broadnax, who also plays cornerback.
As a two-way player in his junior season, Anderson totaled three interceptions and 10 pass breakups. As a wide receiver, he caught 26 passes for 477 yards and three scores.
Louisville cornerbacks coach Steve Ellis was huge in Anderson’s recruitment, and the Cardinals had to beat out ACC foe Miami (FL) and the SEC’s Auburn.
“Coach Ellis told me what it was,” Anderson told Rivals’ John Garcia Jr in an interview. “I’ll come in, play early and he’s going to get me to where I want to go — and that’s the league. Play corner and be a guy.”
“It feels great to hear because I believe that can happen!”
While confident, Anderson has a senior season to play out before arriving on campus with plenty of work to do before he sees the field in college. But it’s Louisville’s coaching staff that continues to make a difference in this year’s recruiting cycle.
“Relationship with the head coach, Coach (Jeff) Brohm,” he said. “Talking to the players and seeing how they feel about the program, too. They love it.”
“Go Cards! They’re getting a dog for sure.”
