Louisville enters Week 9 AP Top 25 at No. 19

Louisville football burst onto the national stage for the first time this college football season after a rather dominant 24-21 road win over No. 2 Miami. That win has earned Louisville a ranking in the Week 9 Associated Press Top 25 as the No. 19 team in the country.
The Cardinals played one of their better games of the Jeff Brohm era on Friday, leading the Hurricanes wire-to-wire and highlighted by a secondary that secured four interceptions. Miami falls to No. 9 in the rankings.
After leading 14-0, Louisville never looked back. Quarterback Miller Moss played a clean game with no turnovers and completed 23-of-37 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns. As a team, the UofL outgained the Canes 367-334, added six more first downs, and ran nine more plays.
On top of Louisville and Miami, No. 16 Virginia also retains its spot in the polls after a non-conference win against Washington State. The Cavaliers handed the U of L its lone loss of the season two weeks ago, 30-27. Georgia Tech also remained unbeaten and is up five spots to No. 7.
Brohmās Cardinals are sitting at 5-1 on the season and 2-1 in the ACC, still in contention for an ACC title game berth. The Cards control their own destiny if they plan on playing spoiler in the College Football Playoff landscape.
No. 19 Louisville hosts Boston College this Saturday at 7:30 PM Eastern on the ACC Network. The Eagles are 1-6 and have lost six consecutive games after opening the season with a 66-10 win over Fordham.
