The University of Louisville football program has quickly plugged the hole left by previous recruiting coordinator Pete Nochta.

Nochta is in the process of transitioning into his new role at Kentucky, and according to On3’s Pete Nakos, the Cardinals will bring in Purdue director of scouting Nate Dennison and Kentucky general manager Chase Heuke.

Dennison has been behind the scenes at Purdue since 2018 and was most recently the Boilermakers’ director of scouting. He was with Brohm in West Lafayette and before that at Western Kentucky. Dennison will serve in a similar role with the Cardinals and also be a pro scouting liaison.

Heuke spent two seasons as Kentucky’s director of recruiting under the recently fired Mark Stoops and is also a UK graduate. He held the title of assistant director of recruiting from 2015-18, before being named the on-campus recruiting coordinator. Heuke is a Louisville native, playing both lacrosse and football at St. Xavier High School.

With nearly 10 years of recruiting experience, Heuke will also bring a previous relationship with Louisville Executive Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting, Vince Marrow. Marrow spent 12 seasons at Kentucky before joining Louisville as a “general manager” this past summer.

As mentioned, Nochta will join former Louisville teammate and newly appointed UK head coach Will Stein in a similar recruiting position.

With the upcoming transfer portal window (Jan. 2), the Cards are getting their ducks in a row before one of the most crucial parts of the offseason calendar. In the meantime, Louisville will prepare for the Boca Raton Bowl on Dec. 23 against Toledo.
