Louisville offers 2026 four-star RB Damon Ferguson

Late Thursday morning, Louisville football extended an offer to 2026 four-star running back Damon Ferguson.
The Milford Mill Academy product committed to Pittsburgh on June 9, but is still fielding options and offers, with the Cardinals being the latest to offer.
Sitting at No. 236 in the On3 industry rankings, Ferguson is the No. 19 running back in the nation and No. 6 overall prospect in Maryland.
At 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, the Baltimore native is a speedster. He not only stars on the gridiron, but the track as well. This past season, he rushed for 1,341 yards on 105 attempts with 16 touchdowns. Ferguson is elusive out of the backfield, where he can make the first guy miss and take off once he gets to the secondary. With an excellent start and stop ability combined with his quick burst, he truly is one of his class’s gems at the position. He sees holes well and is patient waiting for blockers. On tape, Ferguson is the fastest player on the field and plays both on offense and in the secondary for Milford Mill Academy.
Earlier this week, Evan Hampton, a four-star back from Owensboro (Ky.), flipped his commitment from Louisville to Vanderbilt. And this offer appears to be a response from the UofL coaching staff.
As it stands, the Cards have the No. 36 2026 class in the nation and No. 7 in the ACC, while still adding more weapons. Louisville only has one running back committed to the program, Lekhy Thompkins, a powerful back from Jackson, Tennessee. Ferguson would be the highest-rated commitment in the Cards’ 2026 class.
Louisville running backs coach Chris Barclay has done an incredible job with the room since arriving with head coach Jeff Brohm in December of 2022. This fall, the Cards are set to have one of the most exciting backfields in the nation with Isaac Brown and Duke Watson sharing carries. And in 2023, first-team All-ACC back Jawhar Jordan and Isaac Guerendo combined for 1,934 yards and 24 touchdowns. Both were selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, and it looks like the Cardinals may be sending more the league’s way.
Ferguson enters his senior season oozing with potential as he continues to climb the rankings.
