Louisville offers local 2027 PF Ferlandes Wright

University of Louisville basketball offered Fairdale, Kentucky, native and La Lumiere product Ferlandes Wright a scholarship late Friday night.
The 2027 wing is currently rated as the class’s No. 3 player in the state, and at 6-foot-7, 220 pounds, Wright has the intangibles to continue rising in the rankings as his junior season approaches.
Playing on the AAU circuit this summer with the Indy Heat, Wright won a Peach Jam title and was a star at Fairdale High School last winter. Wright finished the season with 27 double-doubles and averaged 18.0 points, 12.6 points, 3.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.7 blocks. He transferred to Indiana basketball powerhouse La Lumiere ahead of his junior season.
As a Louisville-area native, the Cardinals staff has been quick to jump on Wright. U of L staffer Jermaine Ukaegbu has been in to see Wright play several times, and Louisville immediately becomes his most high-profile offer, joining Jacksonville, Morehead State, Toledo, Ohio, and SE Missouri.
Wright is evolving as a shooter, but has excellent two-way upside, and coupled with a high motor, he will continue to climb the rankings in his junior season. Louisville has made the 2027 class’s top in-state products a priority on the recruiting trail.
The Cards offered Wright following a Friday afternoon visit on campus and with the staff.
