After its 51-17 season-opening win over Eastern Kentucky, Louisville football is still receiving votes in the Associated Press top 25 poll.

The Cardinals were also unranked but were voted for in the preseason top 25, ranking fourth among unranked teams. So, technically speaking, the U of L dropped to No. 30 in the rankings ahead of week two, picking up 59 votes. The Cardinals are behind BYU (104), Auburn (94), Georgia Tech (67), and USC (64) this week.

Four ACC teams crack the rankings, including three Louisville opponents: No. 5 Miami (FL), No. 8 Clemson, and No. 17 SMU. Florida State also entered the rankings this week as the nation’s No. 14 team. Facing three of the league’s top four teams gives the Cardinals one of the toughest schedules in the conference.

The Cards are on a short week as they’ll host James Madison at 7 PM EST on Friday. The Dukes also received four votes in this week’s poll. It’ll be the second-ever meeting between the two schools, with many thinking JMU will be Louisville’s toughest non-conference game of the season.

The AP Top 25 will be released every Monday at 1 PM during the college football season.
