The Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball program had another explosive offensive performance, but stayed put in the week seven Associated Press Top 25.

After opening the 2025-26 season with a perfect 7-0 record, the Cards climbed as high as No. 6 in the nation before losing the first true-road contest of the season at Arkansas and ultimately dropping to 11th. This week, Louisville dominated in a 99-73 win over Memphis, and remains in the AP Poll as the No. 11 team in the country.

With a week in between games because of exams, Louisville looked fresh on Saturday. The Cardinals scorched Memphis from beyond the arc, hitting 18 3-pointers and only trailing for two minutes of game time.

Along with the U of L, three other ACC teams crack the updated poll. Duke is the highest-ranked team in the conference at No. 3 and is still unbeaten, while North Carolina continues to rise throughout a competitive non-conference. Also in polls at No. 23 is Virginia, which has soared to a 9-1 start under first-year coach Ryan Odom.

No. 11 Louisville heads into a top-20 road matchup against Tennessee on Tuesday night.

All of a sudden, the non-conference schedule is almost complete, with three games remaining — at Tennessee, versus Montana, and Baylor on Valentine’s Day.
