Louisville's Jeff Brohm named to 2025 Dodd Trophy Preseason Watch List

Ahead of his third season as the head coach at his alma mater, Jeff Brohm has been named to the 2025 Dodd Trophy Preseason Watch List.
It was announced Monday afternoon that the Louisville native, amongst 25 others, was selected by the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and the Peach Bowl. When deciding, each head coach’s program’s graduation rate, academic progress rate, as well as charity work and community activity/service. For example, coaches named to the watch list are required to have an academic progress rate higher than 980 (Louisville’s is 989), and first-year coaches are ineligible for the award.
Later this fall, a midseason watchlist will be announced, cutting and adding to the list. The winner of the award is decided by the national media, a member of the Dodd family, previous winners, and a College Football Hall of Fame member.
Also representing the ACC is Miami’s (FL) Mario Cristobal, Georgia Tech’s Brent Key, and Clemson’s Dabo Swinney.
Since becoming the head coach at Louisville, Brohm has guided the Cardinals to a 19-8 record, including the program’s first ACC Championship Game appearance in his first season. Last year, the Cards finished the season 9-4 and capped it off with a 35-34 Sun Bowl victory over Washington. Seven Cardinals have been drafted into the NFL with Brohm at the helm. This past spring, quarterback Tyler Shough and cornerback Quincy Riley were selected by the New Orleans Saints, as well as edge Ashton Gillotte, who was taken by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Winning and getting players drafted matter in an award like this, but so does leadership and integrity, as Brohm continues to set himself apart not just as one of the best head coaches in the conference, but as one of the best in the nation.
