Q&A with Sananda Fru — Louisville basketball Media Day 2025
University of Louisville forward Sananda Fru is another new Cardinal with professional basketball experience.
The 6-foot-11 German enters his first season of college basketball having played and started 35 of 39 games for Loewen Braunschweig in the German BBL. There, Fru averaged 12.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks while shooting an efficient 64.5 percent from the floor. He has also competed for the German national team on the FIBA U20 squad in 2022 and 2023.
Fru’s production at the professional level is impressive and should carry over to his time with the Cardinals as the starting five this winter.

At media day, a press conference-style question-and-answer session with Kelsey was followed by a scrum media session, during which all 12 scholarship players were available for questions for 30 minutes. Those player interviews and one-on-ones will be released on an individual basis in the days leading up to the season.
