Top-15 wing Gabe Nesmith set for Louisville unofficial visit

Overtime Elite’s (Ga.) Gabe Nesmith has scheduled an unofficial visit to Louisville later this fall, according to Sam Kayser.
The 2027 wing is the No. 15 player overall in the class and the No. 1 player out of Georgia. His early interests in schools have been Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia. The five-star has also garnered offers from Rutgers, Washington, USC, and Arizona State.
Kayser reports he will be on campus Oct. 23, sandwiched in between unofficials at Georgia and UTK. That is the same weekend as the Boston College football game (Oct. 25) and basketball exhibition versus Kansas.
At 6-foot-6, 185 pounds, Nesmith is also a prototypical two-guard and is just starting to make strides athletically. He can be explosive on the open floor and navigates through traffic with a wiry frame. Skill-wise, the Montverde, Florida, product can handle the ball with some quiet shiftiness and has been working on adding consistency to his 3-point shooting. His passing is a strength and he tends to make good decisions with the ball in his hands. His length and age make Nesmith a 2028 NBA Draft prospect if he can add more offensive tools.
Playing with Vegas Elite on the EYBL circuit this summer, Nesmith caught the attention of several high-major coaches, including Louisville’s Pat Kelsey. Including TJ Jamison‘s visit last December, Nesmith is set to be the second player in the 2027 class to already make it on campus.
Here is Jamie Shaw’s write-up from OTE Pro Day: “Plays with a confidence. I was intrigued with the shake in his handle. He was shifty and decisive getting downhill, able to consistently create space. Next up is the decision making within the space, but the upside as a wing creator was intriguing.”
Louisville’s momentum on the recruiting trail continues to build under Kelsey; however, the Cardinals are still searching for their first commit in the 2026 cycle.
