Four-star QB Matt Ponatoski commits to Kentucky

Kentucky picked up a massive commitment from Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller four-star quarterback Matt Ponatoski on Sunday. It’s the latest in a long line of commitments for Kentucky since the start of the summer.
Ponatoski had narrowed his focus to Kentucky, Arkansas, Alabama, and Oregon, with both football and baseball on the table for his future, and chose the Cats after taking his official visits.
He visited Kentucky unofficially in the spring and officially once again in the summer.
Ponatoski was one of the top quarterbacks at the recent Elite 11 and he was Ohio’s Gatorade Player of the Year for both football and baseball.
In 16 games played for Archbishop Moeller last year Ponatoski set school records with 4,217 passing yards and 57 touchdowns. He completed 70% of his passes and only threw three interceptions.
Ponatoski was recently named a second team Max Preps All-American for baseball. He batted .440 with a .538 on base percentage, four homers, 38 RBI, and 12 stolen bases.
On3 ranks Ponatoski the No. 100 player in the Class of 2026, the No. 9 quarterback in the nation, and the No. 5 player in Ohio.
