Dallas (Tex.) St. Mark’s forward Dawson Battie (6’8, 190) was one of the basketball prospects in attendance for Mark Pope’s second Big Blue Madness event in Lexington. In hindsight he’s probably very happy he made the trip. That’s because Battie announced an offer from Pope on Saturday night while visiting for Madness.

Battie is a five-star prospect and the No. 10 player in the nation in the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s a four-star and the No. 14 player in the 2027 class according to Rivals’ own rankings.

Houston, Missouri, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Wichita State, Texas, LSU, Texas Tech, and Maryland are just some of the other schools that have offered Battie.

Battie had a strong summer with Southern Ties’ 16U team, averaging 15.7 points and 8.6 rebounds per game in the PRO16/NXTPRO league.
