Kentucky unveils schedule for Stein's first season with Wildcats
Will Stein‘s first season as coach of the Kentucky Wildcats will feature one of the most daunting schedules in program history.
The full slate was unveiled by the SEC Network on Thursday, including matchups with College Football Playoff squads Alabama and Texas A&M in Weeks 2 and 3 of the season.
UK will face nine teams participating in this season’s playoff or bowl games.
The Cats’ home slate features Alabama, LSU, Vanderbilt, and Florida, plus non-conference games against Youngstown State, South Alabama, and Louisville.
Stein will make his head coaching debut on Sept. 5 against Youngstown State.
On Oct. 17, Kentucky will make its first trip to Norman, Okla., to face the Sooners since the 1980 season.
It’s the first year for the SEC’s nine-game league slate.
