Friday Night Hoos: How UVa's 2026 commits have performed so far

The high school football season for most of the country is now three to four weeks in. So, how have Virginia football’s 13 commits in their 2026 recruiting class performed so far this fall? CavsCorner takes a look below.
Which Virginia football commits have impressed?
QB Ely Hamrick (Crest – NC)
Hamrick, this past weekend, had his toughest game of the season, completing 14-of-30 passing attempts for 151 yards and one touchdown. On the season, the three-star prospect has completed 54-for-86 (46.7%) passing attempts for 766 yards and six touchdowns with two interceptions.
WR Jack Rhodes (Aquinas – GA)
Rhodes and Aquinas were off this past weekend. Over three games, Rhodes has 25 receptions for 488 yards and nine touchdowns. He has recorded seven or more receptions, 100+ yards, and multiple touchdowns in each game so far.
WR Dylan Cope (Hweit-Trussville – AL)
Cope this season has 15 receptions for 282 yards and two touchdowns. Last weekend against Hoover, Cope recorded a season high of seven receptions for 83 yards and one touchdown. In four games, he has 306 total all-purpose yards and three touchdowns.
OL Michael Gildea (Hun School – NJ)
The Hun Raiders are 3-1 this season. Last week, they passed for over 600 yards in a single game and only ran the ball three times, averaging 13.3 yards per run.
OL Dylan Biehl (Lambert – GA)
Lambert High School is 1-3 this season and is averaging 91.0 rushing yards per game, as well as 3.6 yards per carry.
LB Dallas Brannon (Independence – NC)
Brannon has 35 tackles this season in our games, including 3.0 tackles for loss. Last week, he had six total tackles, including four solo tackles.
