It’s a done deal. Colorado has an in-state commit, as Loveland, Colorado offensive lineman Josiah Manu has flipped his verbal pledge from San Jose State. He attends Thompson Valley High and is listed at 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds.

Manu committed to the Spartans first but had also accrued offers from Arizona, Washington State, Wyoming and Fresno State in addition to the Buffaloes. It comes on the heels of Coach Prime returning to lead the Colorado program after a bout with cancer.

Sanders’ return to his head coaching position in Boulder after time away has coincided with a bit of a recruiting splash from the Buffaloes in which they have sought to flip prospects already committed elsewhere.

Manu is commit No. 11 for Colorado in a class that current ranks outside the top 50 in the country (likely due to quantity) after finishing No. 35 in the nation per the Rivals rankings a year ago. He also adds to an offensive line class that already consisted of three-star prospect Xavier Payne of Orlando, Florida and three-star prospect Ben Gula of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The latest commit is also the first in-state addition of the class after recent misses on four-star offensive lineman Breck Kolojay of Littleton and four-star offensive lineman Tufanua Umu-Cais of Englewood. Both considered Colorado.

The Buffaloes held their annual Media Day event in Boulder on Friday, August 8 after last year’s 9-3 regular season campaign and begin the 2025 season in less than three weeks when they host Georgia Tech on Friday night, August 29.
