Brown, Crooks Named to Naismith Player of the Year Watch List

Iowa State juniors Addy Brown and Audi Crooks were named Thursday to the 2025-26 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Women’s College Player of the Year Watch List.
Brown, a 6-foot-2 forward from Derby, Kansas, continued her rise as one of the nation’s most versatile players last season. She averaged 15.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game as a sophomore. Brown is one of just six Division I players since 1999-2000 to record multiple seasons with at least 400 points, 250 rebounds and 150 assists.
She scored in double figures in 28 of Iowa State’s 35 games, topped 20 points 11 times and recorded eight double-doubles. Brown earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors after averaging 25.5 points, 6.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds in wins over ranked opponents Kansas State and TCU. She scored a career-high 41 points against Arizona State in the Big 12 Championships — one shy of the school record — and narrowly missed a triple-double with 17 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds at Kansas.
Crooks, a 6-3 center from Algona, Iowa, returns as one of the nation’s top post players. She is the only player in program history to earn All-America and unanimous All-Big 12 honors in each of her first two seasons.
Crooks set single-season school records last year with 820 points and 329 field goals while leading the Big 12 with 23.4 points per game. She shot better than 60% from the field and reached 1,000 career points in her 49th game — the fastest in school history and third-fastest in Big 12 history.
Crooks scored in double figures in every game last season and enters 2025-26 with an active streak of 67 straight games in double figures.
Iowa State opens the regular season Monday, Nov. 3, against St. Thomas. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Hilton Coliseum for the Cyclones’ annual Field Trip Day.
