Carlisle guard Macy Comito signs with Iowa State women’s basketball

Iowa State women’s basketball announced Wednesday the signing of Carlisle native Macy Comito as part of its 2026 recruiting class.
Comito, a 5-foot-9 guard from Carlisle High School, is the lone member of the Cyclones’ 2026-27 freshman class.
“We are very excited to add Macy to the Iowa State women’s basketball family,” head coach Bill Fennelly said in a news release. “Macy was born to be a Cyclone. She is a talented guard who competes hard at both ends of the floor. Our needs in the 2026 class were limited, but Macy was a perfect fit for us both on and off the court.”
Comito averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game as a junior, following a sophomore season in which she posted 22.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest. She earned all-state, all-region, all-district and unanimous all-conference honors both seasons.
A three-year team captain, Comito holds multiple school records at Carlisle, including single-game points (39), single-game field goals (15), season points (509), season scoring average (22.1) and season field goals (183).
Off the court, Comito is a member of the National Honor Society, a two-time academic all-conference honoree and a three-time honor roll selection. She has also lettered in track and mock trial.
Comito is the daughter of Corey and Alyssa Comito, both Iowa State alumni, and has two brothers, Isaac and Ty. She plans to major in kinesiology and health sciences.
