Iowa State Commits Amarion Jackson, Tyrell Chatman Named to Omaha World-Herald Super Six

The future of Iowa State football continues to shine brighter as two of its top 2026 commits — Amarion Jackson and Tyrell Chatman — have been named to the prestigious Omaha World-Herald Super Six, a distinction that honors the top high school football players in Nebraska.
This elite recognition cements their place as two of the most dynamic and promising athletes in the state — and solidifies the Cyclones‘ growing pipeline into Nebraska high school football talent.
A 6-foot, 175-pound wide receiver and defensive back from Omaha Central, Jackson has long been on the radar as one of Nebraska’s most electrifying prospects. Now, he has the accolades to match.
Jackson’s junior season saw him rack up over 1,100 all-purpose yards, including 778 receiving yards on 50 catches, and 7 touchdowns. On special teams, he showcased his game-breaking ability with multiple return scores. Defensively, he contributed at free safety, underlining his versatility and football IQ.
A multi-year starter, Jackson first drew attention during his sophomore year when he posted 1,086 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns, earning him a spot on Nebraska’s “Super Sophomore” list.
His explosive skill set and playmaking instincts attracted offers from schools across the Big Ten and Big 12, including Nebraska, Kansas State, Minnesota, and Illinois. Ultimately, Jackson chose Iowa State, citing the coaching staff’s vision and the opportunity to make an early impact.
Joining Jackson in the Super Six — and in Ames — is Chatman, a dynamic two-way athlete and one of the top defensive backs in Nebraska.
At 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Chatman anchored the Lincoln North Star secondary with 37 tackles, 7 pass breakups, and 4 interceptions as a junior. But he’s not just a football standout — Chatman is also a decorated track athlete, showing elite speed and agility on the oval that translate seamlessly to the gridiron.
Initially committed to Northern Illinois, Chatman flipped his commitment to Iowa State earlier this year, pairing him with Jackson and giving the Cyclones a strong duo from the Cornhusker State.
The selections of Jackson and Chatman to the Super Six represent more than individual honors — they reflect a broader trend: Iowa State’s emergence as a recruiting force in Nebraska.
With Cyclone head coach Matt Campbell and his staff placing increased focus on the region, Iowa State is not only landing elite talent — they’re building meaningful relationships with Nebraska high school programs.
With their final high school seasons still ahead, both Jackson and Chatman will look to add to their resumes before heading to Ames.
