Iowa State’s Crooks Named Big 12 Player of the Week; Brown Earns Starting 5 Nod

Iowa State juniors Audi Crooks and Addy Brown earned Big 12 honors Monday, with Crooks being named the league’s Player of the Week and Brown selected to the conference’s Starting 5.

Crooks set Iowa State’s single-game scoring record Wednesday against Valparaiso, dominating in the post for 43 points on 18-for-23 shooting in just 20 minutes. She added a perfect 8-for-8 performance Sunday against Norfolk State. Crooks shot better than 83% from the field for the week (26-for-31) and averaged 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks. Her five blocks Sunday were the most by a Cyclone since Denae Fritz had five against Baylor in the 2023 Big 12 Tournament.

Brown also turned in a milestone week, scoring her 1,000th career point Wednesday as part of an 18-point outing against Valparaiso. She followed with Iowa State’s fourth-ever triple-double Sunday, finishing with 11 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. It was the program’s first triple-double in more than a decade and the Big 12’s first since Kansas State’s Serena Sundell on Dec. 5, 2024.

No. 12 Iowa State hits the road for the first time this season Thursday to face Drake. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. in Des Moines on ESPN+.
