Oklahoma four-star linebacker Case Alexander visits Iowa State, reconnects with coaches and brother

A four-star linebacker prospect in Oklahoma who has taken multiple visits to Iowa State was back in Ames late last month for a game day visit.
Washington junior Case Alexander, whose older brother Cooper is a redshirt freshman for the Cyclones, said he enjoyed renewing some acquaintances around the program.
“It was awesome as always and great catching up with the coaches and seeing my brother as well,” said the 2027 recruit. “It was an awesome atmosphere, the whiteout game. I think it was definitely the coolest game day experience I’ve had up in Ames so far. But it’s always good getting to go up to Iowa State and see them.
“It was also great talking to Coach (Colby) Kratch, Coach (Taylor) Mouser, Coach (Matt) Campbell and Coach (Derek) Hoodjer. I’m always feeling the love from those guys and they’re all great people as well. I really enjoy getting to see them and catch up with them.”
Checking in at #167 in the latest Rivals300 rankings of the high school junior class, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound Alexander is the 11th-rated linebacker nationally and third-ranked overall prospect in Oklahoma.
He also has Power-4 offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Michigan, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, SMU, TCU, Utah and Baylor.
Alexander said he feels like he has a pretty good feel for the Cyclones’ program after having seeing it up close and person on multiple occasions.
“Just constantly going up there reminds me every time about the kind of culture they have up there and how good the people are,” he said. “I feel like that’s what sets them apart, is just the people in the program. They’re just great people.”
The Oklahoma high schooler also plays on both sides of the ball, including the same offensive position as his brother Cooper, for his high school team.
Where he’ll play at the next level is something he’s discussed with ISU coaches.
“I definitely feel the love from them,” Alexander said. “They’re always giving me some encouragement and joking around with me about playing both sides and which side I’m going to play at the next level, so that’s always funny.
“I think it’s definitely linebacker first. I’m not saying that there’s no chance I would end up playing offense, but I think linebacker is the priority, and then if anything happens, offense as well.”
Alexander said he’ll likely return to Ames again in the near future.
“I think I’ll end up back up there soon for another visit, plus I’d get to see Cooper, so it’s killing two birds with one stone and that’s always good,” he said. “I’ll definitely get back up there at some point.”
