Robby Ashford, Demond Claiborne listed as ‘probable’ on initial availability report

Both of Wake Forest’s key offensive players who were hobbled at the end of last weekend’s loss are listed as “probable” on the first availability report of the week.
Quarterback Robby Ashford suffered a knee injury and missed a chunk of the second half in Wake’s 30-29 overtime loss. Running back Demond Claiborne has been hobbled through the first month of the season; he scored the Deacons’ touchdown in overtime but exited the game and was not in for the failed 2-point attempt.
It’s positive news, at least, for both players to appear with a favorable listing on Wake’s availability report.
Also listed as probable is linebacker Frank Cusano, who played in the first three games but missed last week’s game. Cusano was ruled out in the game-day update on Saturday.
The only Deacon with a questionable designation is tight end Harry Lodge.
Cornerback Ashaad Williams — like Cusano, ruled out in the game-day update before the Georgia Tech game — is among the 14 players already ruled out for Wake’s game at Lane Stadium. Still among those are cornerback Sascha Garcia, offensive lineman Clinton Richard and tight end Will Loerzel.
On the Virginia Tech side of things
Former Deacon Donavon Greene appears on VT’s initial list. He’s probable to play against his former team.
The Hokies have ruled out safety Quentin Reddish and linebacker Caleb Woodson, both of whom started the first three games (before coach Brent Pry’s firing). Cornerback Caleb Brown started the first two games and has missed the last two; he’s also listed as out.
Virginia Tech could see the return of safety Sherrod Covil. He hasn’t played since the second game.
Here is the complete list for both teams:
