Wake Forest picked to finish 11th in ACC

Wake Forest has been picked to finish 11th in the ACC.
The Deacons received 412 voting points in the preseason poll for ACC men’s basketball. Results of the poll were announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
Wake Forest finished relatively close to its preseason pick in the last three seasons. Last year, finished in a tie fourth after a preseason pick of third; in 2023-24, finished in a tie for fifth after being preseason sixth; and in 2022-23, finished in a tie for eighth after picked ninth.
Duke was picked to win the league, receiving 34 of 49 first-place votes. Louisville was picked to finish second and is the only other team to receive first-place votes.
Wake Forest did not have any players receive recognition on the preseason All-ACC teams or the individual awards (player of the year and freshman of the year). Voters only submit a first-team of five players, and the top 10 recipients are divided into a first-team and second-team.
