Wake Forest puts four players on All-ACC teams
Four players from Wake Forest’s football team landed on All-ACC teams, including one on the first-team.
Safety Nick Andersen received the most voting points at his position. The sixth-year Deacon who joined the program as a walk-on leads the team with 94 tackles, has 5½ TFLs and seven pass break-ups this season. His overall grade on Pro Football Focus is 89.8.
Running back Demond Claiborne was named to the second-team. The senior has 907 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground this season, with another 28 catches for 140 yards.
Two transfers landed on the third-team — cornerback Karon Prunty and receiver Chris Barnes, as a specialist. Prunty’s PFF grade is just behind Andersen’s at 87.6; Barnes has 263 kick return yards on just seven returns.
Wake Forest has eight players on the honorable mention list. They are: Barnes as an all-purpose back, offensive tackle Fa’alili Fa’amoe, offensive guard George Sell, center Devin Kylany, defensive end Langston Hardy, defensive tackle Jayden Loving, linebacker Dylan Hazen and nickel Davaughn Patterson (though he’s listed at the safety position).
The All-ACC teams were announced Tuesday afternoon by the league. The teams were voted on by a select panel of the league’s coaches and media members. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.
