Duke picked as preseason favorite in ACC

For the 10th time in the last 13 seasons, Duke is the preseason favorite to win the ACC.
The Blue Devils received 34 of 49 first-place votes in the preseason poll for ACC men’s basketball. Results of the poll were announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
The only other team to receive first-place votes was Louisville, with 15 of them. Louisville, along with UNC, will play Duke twice this season after the programs played for the ACC tournament championship last season.
Duke was picked to win the league’s regular-season crown last season and followed suit. The Blue Devils, by going 19-1, won the most ACC games in league history. As a reminder: The ACC is dropping back to 18 league games this season.
For player accolades, Duke freshman Cameron Boozer is a first-team All-ACC pick and received 43 of a possible 49 votes as the league’s freshman of the year. He finished runner-up to N.C. State’s Darrion Williams as the league’s preseason pick for player of the year.
Sophomore Isaiah Evans was named to the second-team.
