Duke runs past Indiana State

DURHAM – Duke trailed Indiana State by 10 less than four minutes into Friday night’s game at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Before the first half ended, the Blue Devils pushed their lead past 20.
Fourth-ranked Duke blew past the visiting Sycamores 100-62, for its fourth win to open the season.
Duke (4-0) used two 11-0 runs and a 13-0 run in the first half to turn this game into a rout. The Blue Devils took a 51-32 lead into halftime — the second straight game they’ve led by 19 at the break.
Cameron Boozer scored 23 of his season-high 35 points in the first half. He was 9-for-10 from the field in the first half. The powerful freshman also had 11 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and three steals. It’s Boozer’s first double-double since the season opener against Texas — he was one and two rebounds shy of a double-double against Army and Western Carolina, respectively.
Junior guard Caleb Foster scored 14 points, including a couple of 3-pointers. It’s the most points he’s scored since he had 16 against Pittsburgh halfway through his freshman season.
It’s the first time since Dec. 2017 that Duke has scored triple-digit points in back-to-back games. The Blue Devils were short of the 114 they scored at Army earlier this week.
Indiana State committed 12 turnovers in the first half. None of them came when the Sycamores surged to a 14-4 lead early.
Eight of the turnovers were live-ball giveaways, helping Duke to 12 fast-break points in the first half.
