Eagles reportedly naming Kurt Anderson O-line coach
Just before the Patriots kicked off on Sunday, Matt Zenitz reported that BC is going to hire Kurt Anderson as its new O-line coach. Although, at the time of this write up, I wasn’t able to lock in confirmation of the report.
Zenitz also said that Joe Dailey – who was at seemingly every single BC practice during spring ball and training camp this past summer – is a strong candidate to take over as wide receivers coach again. There is no word on defensive coordinator candidates yet, but I’ve been told that decision will be coming this week as well.
More on Anderson
Anderson has both NFL and college coaching experience, which is something O’Brien had to consider when bringing in the newest addition.
In 2005, Anderson served as an O-line and tight ends coach for Indiana State. In 2008 he served as the Eastern Michigan tight ends coach before taking over as O-line coach from 2009-2012. From 2013-2015, Anderson was an O-line assistant for the Buffalo Bills.
In 2016 and 2017 Anderson was the Arkansas O-line coach before serving in the same role at Northwestern from 2018-2024. This year, Anderson was the O-line coach at UMass.
Anderson grew up in Illinois and played at Michigan, winning a national championship in 1997 with the Wolverines.
Dailey returning?
Dailey would be an interesting returnee to the program. He was on the sidelines often this past spring and summer and would be able to jump right back into a role with the program without any awkward ‘getting to know you’ phase with the players or staff.
Dailey was the WR coach from 2020-2021 before joining the Carolina Panthers in 2022. Since then, Dailey has been with Kansas, Hampton and App State as an offensive analyst, QB coach and WR coach respectively.
