Louisville's Pryor to Miss Opener

Louisville forward Kasean Pryor will miss the Cardinals season-opener on Monday against South Carolina State, head coach Pat Kelsey told The Field of 68.
The 6-foot-10 Pryor is still working his way back into game shape after recently being cleared. Pryor suffered a torn ACL in his left knee early last season and has been rehabbing during the offseason.
Pryor, 24, is in his sixth season of college basketball. He transferred into Louisville a year ago and started three games last season and played seven overall before suffering the knee injury against Oklahoma in the Battle of Atlantis title game.
Pryor was averaging 12.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks at the time of the injury.
Pryor began his career at Boise State – where he played sparingly in two seasons for Leon Rice. He then went to Northwest Florida State before enjoying a breakout season at South Florida (13.0 ppg, 7.9 rpg) in 2023-24.
Kelsey told Field of 68 that he is unsure of when Pryor will return to game action, but the forward will give the Cardinals even more depth up front. The Cardinals are coming off an NCAA tournament appearance in Kelsey’s first season, and have loaded up with key transfers Ryan Conwell (Xavier), Isaac McKneely (Virginia) and Adrian Wooley (Kennesaw State) on the perimeter as well as heralded freshman Mikel Brown Jr.
The frontcourt is also revamped with the addition of German forward Sananda Fru and Greek big man Vangelis Zougris to a group that already brought back 6-foot-7 forward J’Vonne Hadley and Aly Khalifa – who has completely changed his body after sitting out last season.
