Maryland's Rakease Passmore to miss 2025-26 season

By SAM LANCE
Maryland guard Rakease Passmore has torn his Achilles tendon and will be out for the 2025-26 season, the school announced on Tuesday.
Passmore started his college career last season at Kansas and appeared in 23 games. He averaged 0.7 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.3 assists in five minutes per contest. His best game was a 5-point outing vs. Furman, where Passmore knocked down a triple.
In high school, Passmore was a four-star recruit and ranked top-50 nationally. He committed to Kansas out of Combine Academy in Florida and transferred to Maryland this offseason. He was set to carve out a role on the wing to start Buzz Williams‘ tenure with the Terrapins.
