One of the best returning players in the Big Ten, Oregon guard Jackson Shelstad, has broken his right hand and will miss 4-6 weeks, the school announced on Friday. The injury was sustained in practice earlier this week.

Shelstad is a reigning All-Big Ten Third Team selection after averaging 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game last season. He’s made 65 starts at point guard in his two-year career at Oregon.

Six weeks would put Shelstad’s return around Nov. 14. Oregon’s November non-conference schedule includes home games against Hawaii (Nov. 4), Rice (Nov. 7), South Dakota State (Nov. 12) and Oregon State (Nov. 17) before the Players Era festival from Nov. 24-26.
