Talented & Versatile Tight End Jake Wilson Has Eyes On Army West Point

by: A.M. Allan11/28/25

As the Black Knights coaching staff gets closer to adding the final chapters to their 2026 recruiting class, there are such prospects as tight end Jake Wilson that remain on the radar.

The 6-foot-5, 230 pounder currently holds from Syracuse, Princeton, Army, and Sacramento State.

“I received my Army offer last Saturday during a visit to West Point for the game against Tulsa,” shared Wilson.  “Coach (John) Loose is my area recruiter and Coach (Seth) Hestness is the tight ends coach so they have been recruiting me.

“I have been in contact with Army for quite a while, but things have picked up recently. I met Coach Loose my freshman year when he came my school on a recruiting visit. I had a great conversation with him before the game last Saturday and after he offered me I was extremely happy and grateful because of the history behind their program and also due to the fact that both of my sisters, Taylor and Brooke Wilson, currently attend West Point and play basketball there. So it was great to get an offer to play for Army.”

The talented tight end who is out of St Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia (PA) is familiar with the West Point campus, which is predicated on his family connections at the academy.

“This was my first visit to Army, but I have been on post countless times visiting my sisters and going to their basketball games and Army Football games,” Wilson explained, as he elaborated on the fact that his sisters attend the academy.

“They are both on the women’s basketball team,” he declared, as he made reference to Taylor Wilson (#22 & forward) and Brooke Wilson (#3 & guard).

Army Offensive Football Fit

So where does Wilson see himself fitting into Army’s offensive style of play?

“I am a physical and versatile tight end and I believe I really excel in blocking,” he said without hesitation.  “I also have the ability to play out on the perimeter and line up in the slot. I think that my talents could be utilized in a multitude of ways especially through the run game, in which army excels in.”

According to the tight end, his 2025 didn’t go according to plan, but he is looking ahead to the next level, which is college.

“I actually suffered an injury in our 5th game this year, that kept me out for five weeks and limited me when I came back for our playoff game in which we lost to a great Lasalle team,” explained Wilson. “We ended up finishing 5-5.”

“I am interested in Army and am blessed to have been given the opportunity to play there. I look forward to continuing to build relationships with their staff and coaches as I go forward in this recruiting process. I hope to make a decision (college) in the spring/early summer.

Wilson current GPA is a 3.9 (unweighted).
