Arkansas makes big jump in ESPN FPI after win over Arkansas State

The Arkansas Razorbacks (2-0, 0-0 SEC) saw their Football Power Index (FPI) ranking take a leap after their win over the Arkansas State Red Wolves (1-1, 0-0 SBC) on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
Before the game, Arkansas was ranked No. 28 nationally in the FPI, but it rose 10 spots to No. 18 after the 56-14 blowout win.
It was a big jump for the Hogs, who are now 10th in the SEC in the FPI rankings. They’ll play seven of the 10 teams ahead of them this season as well, starting off with Ole Miss next weekend, which is ranked No. 8.
The projected win-loss record for the Hogs after their jump to No. 18 is 6.7-5.3, and there’s a 78.8% chance Arkansas gets bowl eligible this season according to the FPI.
The chances of making the College Football Playoff are now at 18.9% according to ESPN, and there’s a 1.7% chance the Hogs make the National Championship game.
Arkansas and Ole Miss will kick off on Saturday night at 6 p.m. from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi. The game will be televised on ESPN.
